Human

Humans are the slowest growing of all mammals.

From the age of thirty, humans gradually begin to shrink in size.

Robert Pershing Wadlow was the tallest human that has ever lived with the incredible height of 8'11" (272 cm). Sadly he died aged only 22, back in 1940.

About 6.5% of humans who have ever lived are alive right now.

The oldest undisputed known depiction of a human being, the Venus of Hohle Fels, is about 40,000 years old, and made from mammoth ivory. It's on display in a museum in a small German town.

In 1963, the Bronx Zoo had an exhibit called "The Most Dangerous Animal in the World". It was a mirror.

Humans are the best long-distance runners on the planet. Their unlikely combination of sweatiness and relentlessness gives them the upper hand over natural running animals (horses and dogs) in marathon distance races.

The fastest speed a human can run is 27 mph — and that was Jamaican sprinter Usain Bolt.

Humans are the only mammal that cannot swallow and breathe at the same time.

The females of only three species — killer whales, pilot whales, and humans — are thought to carry on living after they pass beyond their reproductive age.

Humans are bioluminescent and glow in the dark. The light is just too weak for human eyes to detect.
