Slide

The Action Park amusement park located in Vernon, New Jersey, USA, which was open from 1978 until 1996 was deemed so unsafe it was given nicknames such as "Traction Park" and "Accident Park". The park's Alpine Slide alone produced 14 broken bones, head injuries, and one fatality. After a massive overhaul, the amusement park was reopened in 1998 and the Alpine Slide was eliminated.

The University of Munich has installed a 4 storey slide to take students from any floor to ground level.

You have to climb 264 steps to reach the top of Verruckt, in Kansas City, the fastest and steepest water slide in the world. At almost 169 feet, higher than Niagara Falls, it propelled riders to speeds of 65 mph.

When the Verrückt opened in July 2014, it surpassed the Kilimanjaro at Aldeia das Águas Park Resort to become the world's tallest water slide. However, following a fatal accident involving a 10-year-old boy in 2016, the ride was closed indefinitely pending a criminal investigation and will eventually be demolished.

The world's longest water slide is located at New Jersey's Action Park. At 1,975 feet Guinness World Records certified the ride as the longest in the world in July 2015.
