In 1994 at the Airport Church in Toronto, Canada, reports emerged of hundreds of people rocking on their feet and rolling around on the floor for hours at a time. Soon this wave of Acts 1- like spiritual phenomena spread to churches all around the world and many believers were caught up in a spiritual wave of laughing, crying, fainting and speaking in tongues. Sadly this Toronto Blessing ended up creating division, as whilst some believed it to be a move of the Holy Spirit others felt it was at best over-enthusiasm, or at worst it came from the devil.
Coincidentally or not "Toronto" is the Huron Indian word for meeting place and originally it was a central spot for the Indians, French, Americans and British where many different languages were spoken.
