Crying

In 1973 a statue of the Madonna at a convent in the Japanese city of Akita started weeping. The hearing of a deaf nun was miraculously restored and the crying statue was authenticated by the Vatican and over 500 witnesses.

Chewing gum while peeling onions will keep you from crying.

Newborn babies cry without tears until they are several weeks old.

On average women cry 64 times a year, compared to 17 times for men.

In space, astronauts cannot cry, because there is no gravity, so the tears can't flow. Instead they just puddle up under their eye.

Elephants cry out of emotion, and in 2013 a baby elephant cried for five hours after being rejected by his mother twice.

Crying is good for you. It flushes unhealthy bacteria out of your body, strengthens the immune system and relieves stress.

Tears are made up of protein, salt and hormones.
